Friday Fab Five

It's been quite some time since my last Friday Fab Five posting, my sincerest apologies. I hope these five fabulous products will make up for it : )

1. Nivea Express Hydration Lotion with Sea Minerals: I am a huge advocate for soft, silky and youthful looking skin, especially in the warmer months when showing some skin. I don't however, like the greasy feel that some lotions leave behind, not to mention I don't always have time to wait for the lotion to dry. Enter Nivea lotion, and all problems are solved. This lightweight but uuber conditioning lotion smells wonderful and works like no other. I highly recommend.

2. Clean and Clear Morning Burst Oxygenating Cleanser: I have been a fan of the Morning Burst line for quite some time and just recently stumbled upon this face wash (thanks to the beau.) This stuff is great. My face feels super clean, refreshed and awake. The smell and slight tingle let you know its working and of course, the Clean and Clear family never seems to disappoint. A plus product right here.

3. Olay Total Effects Tinted Moisturizer: I have been hearing rave reviews about this product and decided that now was the perfect time to try it out. As mentioned before, I have combo skin that gets super oily throughout the day so I need something that's going to hold up. And now, thanks to my glorious Memorial Day weekend tan, I don't need to layer on the makeup. This puppy has just the right amount of tint to it, but also has SPF, tone correcting serums and light enhancers for luminous skin. So far, I am impressed. Let's see how it holds up in mid-July Maryland humidity.

4. Essie Sand Tropez: Hands down my most favorite shade as of yet. The color looks polished, professional yet fun. Not to mention it is super versatile. Currently it is on both my fingers and my piggies.

5. Puerology Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner: Well, technically I am currently using only the conditioner since I still have a good amount of my "Its a 10 Lite" shampoo. But I will most certainly be purchasing the Hydrate Shampoo when I run out. This stuff is absolutely amazing. It's a pretty penny, but worth EVERY cent. Made with zero sulfates, this line promotes hydration without harming your color or the environment. Once applied, the minty aroma engulfs you as its tingling solution penetrate your coif. You can literally feel it working. Leave it on for a few minutes, rinse and voila! shiney, silky, beautiful hair!

Happy Friday Beauties : )

Fashion Roundup: CMT Music Awards

While I am not a fan of the music genre, I certainly do enjoy a night of fashion. Like the MTV Movie Awards, the CMT's are a chance for celebs and musicians alike to let their hair down and have a little fun. Here are some hits, and some misses from last nights awards show...
Kellie Pickler's rockin bod looks great in everything.

Not sure if it's the cut or the fit but something turns me
off about Grace Potters dress.

I get it, we are trying to match. However, none of these outfits
look good. Sorry gals.

Im impartial to Hayden's dress.

Cute, but the shoes are a bit much. Not to mention,
clashing with the carpet. Awkward.

Bandage dress and nude pumps. YAWN. On any given
Saturday night you will see at least 10 girls wearing this.

LOVE the dress...HATE the shoes.

Gorgeous dress. I especially like the simple hair paired
with such a glam look.

Meh. Doesn't do her curves justice.

Perhaps Jennie's dress would look better in less
of a cheap-y homecoming color.

This picture is the epitome of everything bad about country fashion.

Love everything about this except for the train.

Hands down, worst dressed of the evening.
I am getting a Jetson-eqsue vibe from this
futuristic ensemble.

Kristen Bell wins Best Dressed in my book. This lovely
gown is both fun and glamorous. Bravo!

Kate Middleton's Style

In honor of the Queens Jubilee, today is devoted to those beloved Royals and the newest of them in particular, Mrs. Kate Middleton. I have been a fan of her style since day 1, the clean lines, classic cuts and extravagent materials just scream chic! Here are some of her looks that I have come to adore...

I too, have a deep love for J. Brand Jeans

Just the right amount of color adds whimsey
to her frock

I don't know what I love more, the perfectly
tailored blazer or the bag

The embellishments on this dress
are amazing

Gorgeous, but the back of
it was to die for

Her collection of coats is lustworthy

Even while out hiking the Duchess is chic

Glad to see her in such a rich color

Those J. Brands again. She makes
casual couture

Simple, chic, sophisticated

The shoes, the clutch, the dress. I am
coveting EVERYTHING about this
ensemble.

And of course the dress that launched a thousand
re-makes.

And ps, if you are wondering about those delightfully chic nude pumps Kate is always wearing?

They are now available in the U.S. Finally!

Cheerio!

Fashion Lessons from the MTV Movie Awards

Ahh the MTV Movie Awards. A night of big laughs, surprises, amazing performances and wild antics. This awards show is quite different than the other more stuffy ceremonies such as the Oscars. Although it is a night of fun and celebrations, it is also NOT a night to forget to call up your sylist. Here are some Do's and Don'ts of MTV Movie Awards fashion.

Jumpsuits:

It takes a particular kind of person to pull off this bold silouhette.

Do: show a little skin (it is June afterall)

Do: go for a seductive neck line

Don't: wear hair in a tight updo

Don't: pair the already avant garde look with intricate fabric cut outs

Effie would gasp at such a look

I'm usually not a fan but Shailene knocked
this one out of the park!

The Beach Babe Look:

Yes my friends, it is June and while the beach may be calling your name, that doesn't mean you need to dress for it on the Red Carpet.

Do: combine neutrals with a pop of color

Do: keep hair and makeup simple

Don't: incoporate dated patterns

Do: pair your look with a killer clutch and sassy shoes

Leighton looks far too casual for the event

Jenna Dewan paired together the right amount
of sass and sand

Sparkles:

'Cause sometimes a girl just needs a little glitz and glam in her life

Do: keep the rest of your look modest

Don't: go overboard with the glitz, keep jewelry simple

Don't: combine sparkles, sheer fabric and cut outs

Do: pair your look with simple shoes and clutch

Is that your belly button ring Brooke?

Ms. Hilton has the right balance of glitz and class

Cut Outs:

This new dress craze walks a VERY thin line. One wrong move and you may end up looking like a street walker

Do:keep the fabric under your dress close to your natural skin tone

Do: be concious of your body type.

Don't: go for over embellishments

Do: keep jewelry, hair and makeup simple

There is way too much going on on Amber Rose's
dress

Holland Roden is sizzlin' in red

What are your favorite looks and flops?
