To scarf or not to scarf...that is the question

Head scarves, we all know that Nicole Richie and countless models can pull them off. But what about us every day gals...can we? With summer time coming up I have been torn over this conundrum. Part of me seriously wants to give it a go, while the other part hesitates. These boho chic, yet glam looks make me want to give it a whirl...

What are your thoughts on head scarves?

Happy Friday Lovelies!

Desktop Dreamin'

My desk at home is not only my desk, but the place where all of my random belongings find a "home." From keys, to knick knacks, to cups and cat toys the beautiful glass desk from Ikea has become a cluttered mess. I not only work 40-50 hours a week but am in grad school for my Master of Fine Arts in Historic Preservation, which means I draw (buildings) A LOT. And there is ALWAYS something in my way or there to mess up my perfectly squared up brick facade. I would love to carve out a little nook in my apartment and create my very own office/drawing space. A spot where I can spread out my tools, sit a cup of coffee down and have my computer open blasting Fiest on Spotify.  A space like these would be perfect....

Marshalls for the Win!

Yesterday evening I decided to hit up Marshalls for some home goods. While I did spot some great finds for my apartment...I also left with other fantastic items.

I found these Elie Tahari Maritza crops. I am always on the hunt for great pants and these are amazing! Their original price tag of $148.00 is enough to turn me away. However, Marshalls had them for $39.99. SOLD! I bought them in both white and navy. The style and fit is perfect for work and weekends!

Next I perused the "activewear" aisle. I am currently in the midst of training for my first Half Marathon (will post about that later) so I am ALWAYS looking for workout clothes. I scooped up a pair of New Balance running capris for $16.99 and Under Armour shorts for $14.99. Both steals!

Before heading to the register I noticed this little gem, the BaByliss Nano Titanium Curling Wand for $15.99. Heck yes I bought it! I have been thinking about buying a curling rod for a while and for sixteen dollhairs, its worth it! I will do a post on how it turns out soon.

That is all for today lovelies! Happy Humpday!

Note to self...

The next four weeks are jam packed with work and personal life craziness. Between daily field trips leading 50-100 kiddos, family events, parties, weekend getaways and only 3 more weeks til finals my life has become one giant overwhelming event after another. Rather than having a panic attack I just need to remind myself of a few pleasant thoughts...

And...if all else face, I will picture this:

Friday Happiness

Happy Friday All! Goodness I am so excited for the clock to strike 5:00 this afternoon and for my weekend to commence!

Yesterday evening I had my 8 week hair appointment and am thrilled with the results! However, something even more exciting happened...remember my post a little while back about my LOVE for Its a 10 leave in treatment with Keratin? Well, the company did it again! The famed company just came out with a new line of volumnizing products, "Its a 10 Light." My hair has reached longer lenghts and could use some help in that department. My hair stylist suggested I try it and since it was Buy 2 get 1 Free AND I had a $10.00 off coupon I just HAD to buy it. I got the shampoo, leave in spray and the volumnizing blow dry spray for $25.00 (each product is around $20.00, so you do the math) It was a steal! I know your supposed to wait at least 24 hours before washing your hair but I just had to try the products out. So far...this gal is impressed! I will give you all an update pronto!

Since those appointments take about 2 hours I had plenty of time to catch up on my gossip and fashion via magazines. I kept seeing an ad for a new Lancome Teinte Idole Ultra 24 hour foundation that apparently took 8 years of research and testing to get the perfect solution. Enticing No? In fine print it also says you can get a free 10 day supply by simply asking the Lancome lady. Well, of course I waltzed right up to the counter  after my appointment, got color swatched and off I went with my free vial of this ground breaking foundation. I used it this morning and my gawd I am in love! It is so light weight and gentle that I don't even feel like I am wearing any makeup, yet it has mondo concealing power. Weird right? Lancome claims it lasts 24 hours...my oily face will certainly put that theory to the test today. I shall update you soon. As of now...go ahead, get the free sample. You've got nothing to lose!
What are your weekend plans?
