Fashion Roundup: The Grammy's

Well I can honestly say that last night's fashion at the Grammy's was down right tragic! While this is a time to show your energy and individuality, it is still a Red Capet event. Between too many cut out dresses, floral prints and awkward hemlines it was difficult to choose some winners.

But here are my votes for fashion hits:

Rihanna was hands down my favorite look of the night.
She sure is beautiful!

Solange rocked this emerald gown but kept it funky
in spikey stilettos and natural hair

Taylor Swift was looking spicy in this nod to the Greeks

Carrie Underwood, was as always timelessly beautiful with elegance to boot

And a bunch of misses:

Oh J Lo, when is enough enough?

I am sure Kimbra wishes this was a dress "that she used to know"

Worst dressed goes to Adele. This is one note she couldn't hit
Florence Welch is known for her ballsy fashion sense but this just looks senseless.
Is she a rockstar or a rock?

Florals? check. Cut outs? check. Awkward hemline? check.

I do wish Miranda Lambert would learn a bit about proportions. This just
makes her look top heavy and the earring are taking away from her gorgeous fce

Just add this to my list of "things Katy Perry wears that I will never understand"

There is just something about Alicia Key's dress that just doesn't sit right with me.
Maybe its the snakeskin, or the awkward bed skirt hemline. Or perhaps its because
I have seen the top of it in the VS catalog...

Out with the Old. In with the New.

I am moving out of my apartment at the end of the month and have decided it is time to do a mass exodus of old shoes and clothing. My goal is to have taken a few trips to the local Goodwill before I even begin the packing process. My closet is LITERALLY overflowing and I have resorted to using laundry baskets in the mean time. I plan to give away a good 75% of my closet (that I don't wear) to those who really need them (and would wear them).

With an empty(er) closet, I have made some recent and wonderful purchases over the past few days that I can see myself wearing and holding on to for quite some time...

Express Editor Crops. Nicely tailored and a huge assortment
of colors. Perfect for work!

Patterns in the Home

Today's interiors mirror our everyday personalities. From accents to heirlooms, our homes have become not only more eclectic, but stylish as well. Gone are the days of boring and bland home decor! Thes latest craze is incorporating patterns into interior design. Whether they be a chevron wall, striped curtains or paisley rugs, small touches of patterns allow our homes to become more expressive and fun! Here are some awesome ways to incorporate patterns without over doing it...

Fashion Round Up: The SAG Awards

Awards season is in full swing and Hollywood's hottest stars are truly shining this year! With a plethora of amazing award-worthy movies out this year the race has been neck and neck. I have personally seen all but one of the films nominated for Best Motion Picture (I swear I have a life) and can tell you ALL of the acts have been phenomenal. I am no movie critic but I do love fashion...and boy were there some hit and misses last night at the SAG Awards.

Some of my favorites:

Naomi Watts stunned in this Marchesa strapless gown

Nina Dobrev showed colorful can still be glamorous

How cute is Kiernan Shipka? I mean the girl is only 13
with fashion sense to boot!

As always, Giuliana looks gorgeous in a cobalt
Max Azria gown

Even with walking pneumonia and a slight (almost)
wardrobe malfunction, J Law looks pure Hollywood
in Dior

Best dressed goes to Amanda Seyfried! Beautiful.
Just beautiful!

So glad to see Sofia Vergara switching it up a bit.
She looks like a Grecian goddess in winter white!

And some fashion misses:

Claire Danes looks lovely from waist up...

Another example of Anne Hathaway trying too hard.
I miss the old Anne.

I'm not sure if its the fit, cut or beading that's
throwing me off on Jennifer Garners get up.

Oh my lanta! I wish Lea Michele would just disappear.
This looks like a Prom Dress circa 2005

It is times like this when I wonder how Kelly Osbourne
has a job on Fashion Police...

With such a pretty face it's hard to imagine why
Michelle Dockery would want to draw attention to
her ladies...
