It's the end of the world as we know it...

Well, not exactly. Considering the fact that I am typing and you are reading this, Mayan conspiracy theorists were wrong and the world has not ended. However, I am currently at work killing time before the rest of my co workers arrive and we make a game plan. Game plan? That seems odd for a typical work day. Well, it most certainly is. You see, as I am sitting in the office (alone), the lights are flickering and water is covering the exhibit floor. In the past 12 hours...the strangest things have happened...

Exhibit A:

...and the city went black.

Exhibit B:

Intense flooding. High tide isn't even until noon!

What a day. And it's only 10:00!

Thoughts and Prayers

The tragedy in Connecticut is beyond unimaginable, but unfortunately it is all too real. I learned about the shootings today from a teary-eyed school administrator who passed the news quietly around the school, as not to disrupt the students. I was shocked, speechless and incredibly saddened when I heard the tragic news. As I sat there watching the sweetest little 4 year olds laugh and smile so innocently I felt my eyes burn with oncoming tears. As they giggled over “tickly” crabs and “silly” fish my heart ached with sadness for the victims’ families. My thoughts and prayers are with them all and with love and compassion; I hope the community of Newtown can heal…

Pinteresting: Work it out

I have been on a severe health kick lately. For the past week I have been really concious about what I am eating and how I am expelling my energy. I am not sure what has caused the sudden urge, perhaps it was a certain health scare that got me thinking about what changes I can make daily to ensure a healthier future. Along with eating organic whole foods, I have also been sweatin it out pretty hard. I am finally cleared by the doctor to get back in the gym and couldn't be more excited! It has been 2 months since I have lifted a weight or clocked in my average 5 mile runs so I am a little nervous about getting back into it. Luckily, I have my dear friend Pinterest to boost my confidence...

Do you have any tips or tricks to getting back into the workout groove?
