Meet Beaux!

Hello Lovelies! I would cordially like to introduce Beaux, my new fur baby.

The Boyfriend and I have been thinking about getting a pup for quite some time. Both of us grew up with dogs and just love them! When deciding upon a little guy the answer was easy, adopt a rescue. We had been on the hunt for one for a while, but none of them seemed to be exactly what we were looking for. Until last weekend when we met this little cotton ball...

Beaux is a 12 week old black lab, pointer, newfoundland mix and the most precious pup ever. He has a mild tempermant and loves to snuggle up next to you. The best part, we didn't pick him...he picked us. Out of a litter of 5 of the cutest little pups ever this was the one that came stumbling over to us.

He loves all people and animals, which makes walking him a bit of a pain. He HAS to stop and introduce himself to everyone, definitely not the shy type. He is currently in the running to become the Mayor of Annapolis! He loves snoozing, playing, and even riding in the car...

Stairway Drama

And no, I don't mean 3 am drunk girl drama in the stairway. I mean actual stairs. Since starting my Masters program I have a new found appreciation for dramatic touches on an otherwise simple context. Stairways have become more and more alluring to me and I love nothing more than a quirky, dramatic breathtaking set of steps to walk up/admire. Here are some fabulous stairwells that have this gal wanting more.

For some reason David Grey's "Sail Away With Me" has been on heavy rotation in my head all day. Perhaps its the nice breeze coming off of the Bay or the gorgeous sky above me, but I have a huge urge to raise the jib and catch some wind in my sails...

Patio Pefection

The roomie and I have a small patio connected to our apartment. It overlooks a fairly large fenced in yard peppered with trees and small plants. Currently its a sparse mess consisting of a table, two chairs and a grill. Nothing special. Recently I have been wanting to transform it into a beautiful patio oasis, one where I can entertain or read a book or just sit and think about the world. Here are some excellent ideas....

Maybe a small fire pit....

Or lighting enhancements....

Possibly infuse some exotic plants into the equation...

Go white on white to open up the space...

Experiement with diferent textures and prints...

I suppose the possibilities are endless. Time to use my imagination....
