Fashion Lessons from the MTV Movie Awards

Ahh the MTV Movie Awards. A night of big laughs, surprises, amazing performances and wild antics. This awards show is quite different than the other more stuffy ceremonies such as the Oscars. Although it is a night of fun and celebrations, it is also NOT a night to forget to call up your sylist. Here are some Do's and Don'ts of MTV Movie Awards fashion.

Jumpsuits:

It takes a particular kind of person to pull off this bold silouhette.

Do: show a little skin (it is June afterall)

Do: go for a seductive neck line

Don't: wear hair in a tight updo

Don't: pair the already avant garde look with intricate fabric cut outs

Effie would gasp at such a look

I'm usually not a fan but Shailene knocked
this one out of the park!

The Beach Babe Look:

Yes my friends, it is June and while the beach may be calling your name, that doesn't mean you need to dress for it on the Red Carpet.

Do: combine neutrals with a pop of color

Do: keep hair and makeup simple

Don't: incoporate dated patterns

Do: pair your look with a killer clutch and sassy shoes

Leighton looks far too casual for the event

Jenna Dewan paired together the right amount
of sass and sand

Sparkles:

'Cause sometimes a girl just needs a little glitz and glam in her life

Do: keep the rest of your look modest

Don't: go overboard with the glitz, keep jewelry simple

Don't: combine sparkles, sheer fabric and cut outs

Do: pair your look with simple shoes and clutch

Is that your belly button ring Brooke?

Ms. Hilton has the right balance of glitz and class

Cut Outs:

This new dress craze walks a VERY thin line. One wrong move and you may end up looking like a street walker

Do:keep the fabric under your dress close to your natural skin tone

Do: be concious of your body type.

Don't: go for over embellishments

Do: keep jewelry, hair and makeup simple

There is way too much going on on Amber Rose's
dress

Holland Roden is sizzlin' in red

What are your favorite looks and flops?
